インドのけものたち

虎、ゾウ、鹿、へび・・・。インドの少数民族の画家が描く、「けもの」たち。見開き右ページにけものの絵、左ページには、その動物名と少数民族の名前が記される。まるであかちゃん絵本のような、シンプルさ。しかし、それぞれの「けもの」たちの、なんとカラフルで多様な姿カタチであることか!　「TIGER」ひとつとっても、全く異なる動物たちが次々と現れ、こころ奪われる。ことばは要らない。

オリジナル版は2003年に制作されたものの、その印刷や用紙の複雑ゆえに増刷されず、永らく絶版になっていた。タラブックスがはじめてさまざまな少数民族のアーティストたちと交流、調査してつくった本。後に刊行される 『The Nightslife of Tree(夜の木)』、『I like cat(猫が好き)』などの作品の原型を感じさせる。
